Effective date September 7, 2026
🎮
Steam identifies your access

Protected platform features are tied to the SteamID64 authenticated through Steam.

📁
Upload responsibly

Only upload demo files you are allowed to use, and never upload malicious, corrupted or abusive content.

🛡️
Abuse can result in a ban

Malicious activity, security attacks, fraud or serious misuse may result in immediate access restriction.

i
Independent service.

Public Demo View is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Valve Corporation, Steam or PayPal. Third-party names and services belong to their respective owners.

01

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Public Demo View, signing in through Steam, uploading a demo, using a public demo-viewing feature, or purchasing premium digital access, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the platform.

02

The service

Public Demo View provides tools related to Counter-Strike 1.6 demo files, including the ability to process supported .dem files, display parsed movement and graph information, replay movement in the browser, list public runs and support automated uploads from compatible server plugins.

Some features are available publicly, while other features require Steam authentication or premium access.

The platform may reject unsupported, invalid, excessively large, damaged or otherwise unprocessable files.

03

Steam authentication

Access to protected features such as /upload/index.php requires authentication through Steam. Public Demo View uses the authenticated SteamID64 to recognize the user and, where applicable, associate access or premium features with that Steam identifier.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Steam account. Activity performed through a successfully authenticated SteamID64 may be treated as activity associated with that Steam account unless we have reason to believe otherwise.

Public Demo View does not operate Steam and cannot restore, recover, secure or modify your Steam account.

04

Demo uploads and user content

You remain responsible for demo files and other content you submit to Public Demo View. You represent that you have the necessary rights or permission to upload, process and, where applicable, publish that content through the platform.

You retain ownership of content you upload. However, you grant Public Demo View a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, parse, convert, process, display and make available the uploaded content and resulting run data only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and provide the service.

If you choose or cause a demo or parsed result to be made public, you understand that the corresponding demo information or parsed run data may be visible to other visitors.

Your responsibility

Do not upload content that you do not have the right to use, or content that violates applicable law, third-party rights or these Terms.

05

Acceptable use and security

You agree not to misuse Public Demo View. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:

  • uploading malware, viruses, scripts, executable payloads or intentionally malicious files;
  • intentionally uploading corrupted or crafted files for the purpose of crashing, exploiting or degrading the service;
  • attempting unauthorized access to databases, server files, accounts, administrator functions or other restricted systems;
  • probing, scanning or exploiting security vulnerabilities without prior written permission;
  • circumventing authentication, access restrictions, premium restrictions, rate limits or bans;
  • using automated requests in a way that creates unreasonable load or disrupts the service;
  • interfering with another user's ability to use the platform;
  • using the platform for fraud, unlawful activity or infringement of third-party rights;
  • impersonating another user or intentionally misrepresenting your authorization to upload content.

Good-faith reports of security issues are welcome. Please contact us instead of attempting to exploit a vulnerability.

06

Premium features and digital access

Public Demo View may offer paid digital features, including time-limited premium access and one-time/lifetime premium access. The exact features, duration and price shown at the time of purchase form part of the purchase terms.

Premium access is digital access and may be associated directly with the SteamID64 provided through Steam authentication. You are responsible for ensuring that you are authenticated with the intended Steam account before purchasing or requesting premium assignment.

Premium access is personal to the associated SteamID64 unless Public Demo View expressly states otherwise. You may not resell, transfer, sublicense, duplicate or commercially redistribute premium access without permission.

07

Payments, fulfillment and refunds

Payments may be processed through PayPal. PayPal's own terms, privacy policy and payment rules apply to information and transactions processed by PayPal.

A digital purchase is considered fulfilled when the purchased premium access or digital feature has been successfully assigned or activated for the applicable SteamID64.

Because premium access is a digital service that may be delivered immediately, completed purchases are generally final and non-refundable once the purchased feature has been successfully assigned or activated, except where a refund, cancellation or withdrawal right is required by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

If you believe a payment was duplicated, assigned incorrectly, not fulfilled or affected by a technical error, contact us so the transaction can be reviewed.

Important before paying

Make sure you are using the correct Steam account. Premium access may be tied directly to the authenticated SteamID64.

08

Suspension, termination and bans

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access to Public Demo View, block a SteamID64, remove uploaded content or disable premium features where we reasonably believe this is necessary to protect the platform, its users or third parties.

Grounds for enforcement may include malicious uploads, attempted exploitation, unauthorized database access, fraud, payment abuse, repeated disruption, ban evasion or other serious or repeated violations of these Terms.

In urgent security or abuse situations, action may be taken immediately and without prior notice. Where reasonable, we may review the situation if you contact us.

A user who loses access because of malicious activity, fraud or a material violation of these Terms is not automatically entitled to a refund for digital features already delivered, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

09

Availability, maintenance and changes

Public Demo View is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee that every demo will parse correctly, that every replay will reproduce gameplay perfectly, or that the service will be available without interruption or error.

We may perform maintenance, fix bugs, change technical requirements, modify features, remove obsolete functionality, impose reasonable usage limits or temporarily disable parts of the platform where necessary for security, performance or development.

We may also discontinue a free feature or the service itself. If a change materially affects a paid feature that has not yet been delivered, we will handle the situation consistently with applicable law and the circumstances of the purchase.

10

Third-party services

Public Demo View may interact with or link to third-party services, including Steam for authentication and PayPal for payments. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability, account decisions, security, policies or independent actions.

Your use of a third-party service is also governed by that provider's own terms and policies.

11

Intellectual property

Except for user-uploaded content and third-party names, trademarks or materials, the Public Demo View website, its original code, interface, branding, design and platform-specific materials are owned by or licensed to Public Demo View and may not be copied, sold, redistributed or presented as another service without permission.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of your uploaded demo files to Public Demo View.

12

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Public Demo View is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every demo file or suitable for a particular purpose.

Parsed movement, graphs, timings, replay output and other generated information may depend on the quality, format and contents of the source demo and should not be treated as guaranteed official game records unless separately verified by the relevant server, community or record authority.

13

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Public Demo View and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of, inability to use, interruption of, or reliance on the platform, including loss of data, loss of access or loss resulting from third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14

Applicable law and mandatory rights

These Terms are subject to applicable law. If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory rights under the law of your place of residence that cannot be excluded by contract. Nothing in these Terms is intended to override those mandatory rights.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

15

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the platform, premium features, security requirements or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised version is published.

Continued use of the platform after updated Terms take effect means you agree to the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

16

Communication and dispute resolution

We prefer to resolve platform problems through direct communication. If you encounter a bug, payment problem, access issue, content concern, account restriction or other dispute, contact us with enough information for the issue to be reviewed.

Contacting us does not limit any legal right or remedy available to you under applicable law.
